Busy weeks and nearing the end

Thought it was time to write a wee update of things here in my little world. Things have been a little busy for me since I last posted mostly with college stuff as it in now only 3 weeks before the end of the course, so I have had quite a bit of work to do, nothing to difficult though just a report on the heating and magnetic effects of a few diffrent electrical items including a light bulb and a AC Induction Motor.

That may sound easy but it isn't really as trying to write something about a light bulb is slightly difficult because it is a very simple device. What can you say apart from the electric current heats the wire and with that you get light. The AC Induction Motors I thought would have been easier as they are a little more complex but it was difficult to explain the operation of one, I understand how it works and all that but trying to write it down so that someone with no knowledge of them could understand it was difficult. Anyway that report has now been done and handed in wasn't too bad in the end. However with 3 weeks to go I now have another report to do and basically only have 1 week to do it as it will need to be in and checked next week and returned to me the following week for corrections (shouldn't need them as I will be making sure it is perfect first time as I want the last week to be quiet). Other than that nearly all the course work is completed and only have a few things to tidy up so it is looking good so far. Hopefully everything goes well and I get on the HNC next year.

Other than the college as usual I have been following the Formula 1 and of course all things happening down at Forthbank. The F1 has been good the past few weeks and well Brawn GP are still doing well with Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello taking the 1, 2 at what has to be easily the best circuit on the F1 callander, in Monaco. I have to say ever since I started watching F1 when I was about 4 or 5 I have never missed a Monaco Grand Prix, it was always one of the circuits that we loved in the house. The race this year wasn't that intresting for some people as there wasn't much action as on the streets of Monaco overtaking is almost impossible so we don't see many changes in position but Monaco isn't about overtaking it is all about the skill of the driver throughout the course as one mistake in Monaco is more than likely going to end with a car in the crash barrier.

On the Stirling Albion front everything is looking good so far, we have managed to retain most of last years squad so credit to the wee Allan Moore for doing so unfortunatly I really think on the Goalkeeping front he should have released Myles Hogarth, as much as I like Myles I really do think that he would have been better off going to another team as it is now clear that Scott Christie is going to be the number 1 next season. Myles is a superb 'keeper and doesn't deserve to be on the bench all the time. I however hope though that since he is staying on he helps develop Scott's skills as from what I have seen of Scott this season he looks like he could be a decent 'keeper he just needs to cut out the camera saves as well as bulking up a bit and he really needs to learn how to organise his defence for all aspects of the game.

While on about football I now know how Allan Moore must feel during a game as being a manager at Forthbank isn't easy as on Saturday there I was co manager of a supporters team in the anual Stirling Albion Supporters Club fundraiser. On the Friday me and my co manager Andy Japp met up with the organiser James Smith or MIF as he is known and also our opponent managers where there Craig Dolby and Jimmy Watson just so we could pick the teams for the game. Since two time champions Redweb Is Best For Reports And Photos were one of the teams it was clear that that had to be my team and after that I handed over to Andy so he could pick the team and well done to Andy for his sellection as when it came to game day we had a group of players that worked as a team and that is what we needed.

On game day I left the warm up to Andy as he is a good coach and got the experiance from playing with Beechwood Albion (one of the Stirling Albion Supporters Teams) and well compared to our opponents Stirling Albion Buyers our warm up session was more organised with Andy getting the guys to work together and knowing each others names as well as getting their muscles warmed up ready for their cup final moment on the Forthbank pitch. Just before the kick off it was back to the dressing room for the pre match team talk that again I left to Andy but I didn't stay quiet it was just a case of telling the guys to go out their and enjoy the game and make sure we got in about our opponents. After lining up like they do in the cup finals it was time to get in my dug out ready for the first 45 minutes of footy. Me and Andy were ready for the game so were our guys. I was left to make sure each of our players had an equal amount of time on the pitch which I thought would be easy but making sure you take the right player off at the right time can be difficult but thankfully to Andy's team picking skills he had made sure we had a versatile bunch of players so we could rotate players in the team with ease. After the frst half was over we were 3 v 2 up and me and And were both in the referees wee black book after a pitch invasion to celebrate our third goal by Gareth Samson, not strictly how a manager should act when we score but who gives a f**k.

The halftime team talk was along the lines of getting the players told not to give away scrappy goals like we did and get back out there thinking it was back to 0 v 0. One thing though I'm sure in the home dressing room things were diffrent for the Dolby/Watson administration as our guys were up on our feet soon after getting in the dressing room ready to go out for the second half. The second half was much the same as the first and for the last 30 minutes I was left to solo in the dug out as Andy had to go on as one of our guys was needing a rest. So it was up to me to get the rest of our substitutions out the way without causing tomany issues. Unfortunaly that idea was shot down in flames with another injury 10 minutes from time but luckily we I had some one to come on for the last 10 minutes unlike Stirling Albion Buyers who required to bring in a couple of extra players to cover injuries. At full time the final score was.

Stirling Albion Buyers 4 V 7 Redweb Is Best For Reports And Photos

Yes it was my team that one but really I couldn't care who won as it was all about having a fun day and raising money for the Supporters Club, I would ust like to say well done to all the guys involved with the match and thank you to everyone who raised over £1600 for the Supporters Club.
