Returning

Well a wee while off from blogging here I have returned. Nothing much really to say apart from that I'm back at the college doing the HNC Electrical Engineering. Just started on Thursday and well it is the same old Falkirk College. Lecturers not being told about classes, classes being sent to rooms that aren't sutiable oh and when going through the matriculation process they couldn't even get that right for me. I should have been sent to the finance desk first to hand over my forms detailing my payments for the course since I am paying for the course my self but nope I was matriculated before that was done. So had to go back to finance to sign a few forms there and then be told to go back to the matriculation desk and hand them in. Got that sorted out and went off home since I had no classes.

Was back in College on Friday and that was another waste of time the two classes I had were just introductions to the course and nothing much else. At least I get halfdays on Fridays and all day off on Mondays and Thursdays.

Other than the College stuff I have been busy over the summer sorting things out for the Football and well tonight I will be (re)launching Rave On which was a Stirling Albion fanzine a few years ago and well I have brought it back to be a news letter for the supporters club.

Michael Jackson.

Just absolutely shocked about MJ's death. Was up last night doing some things on the computer and all my news report services went crazy with news flashes about his death. Got to a point where even searching for information on the net wasn't going well either.

I have always liked his music and he was the one who paved the way for some of today's stars. I just don't know what to say about his death.

Over the past few years his personal life has been in the news a lot but what was never reported during them times was how he collaborated with his fellow singers to raise funds for the children of Africa and after 9/11 he was one of the first superstars to respond to help raise funds for all those people affected.

Michael Jackson was a true music legend who captured the hearts of millions he will be missed from the music world but his music and his legacy will live on.

Rest In Peace Jacko, you may be gone but you will never be forgotten

Scottish Football Has Lost A Saint

This morning when I got to college I done my usual thing and log on to a couple of the forums I use. Only to learn that Dumbarton's captain Gordon Lennon has been tragically killed in a motor accident. Now I have only seen him play once when I was over at the Rock one weekend can't remember who they were playing but was fully impressed by Lennon, he wasn't just a decent lower league player but he was a saint. He always had time for the fans and from my visit it was clear that he was well liked by the fans.

I have read a lot on the forums and even from that it is clear that Lennon wasn't just liked by Dumbarton fans but all the supporters that seen him enjoyed his footballing skill and those who had the pleasure of knowing him and talking about him have all said the same thing that he was the friendliest person they have known. What makes this more tragic is that Gordon has been taken away from his 5 month old baby.

I would like to pass on my condolences to his friends and family.

Storm's

It is that time of year again. Where we have the start of the storm season. Around the atlantic and that so to go with my usual following of them this year I'm going to see if I can plot them asily enough. SOme of you will know that weather things like storms are something I like to follow and now that we have better internet O though why shouldn't I track them.

I will try and update this about them.

Other than that I'm sittin g here in the college roasting to death and to make it worse I could have just been at home out the back writing this instead of being at college as I have done nothing all day, just some silly wee logic puzzle thing and that's it.

Busy weeks and nearing the end

Thought it was time to write a wee update of things here in my little world. Things have been a little busy for me since I last posted mostly with college stuff as it in now only 3 weeks before the end of the course, so I have had quite a bit of work to do, nothing to difficult though just a report on the heating and magnetic effects of a few diffrent electrical items including a light bulb and a AC Induction Motor.

That may sound easy but it isn't really as trying to write something about a light bulb is slightly difficult because it is a very simple device. What can you say apart from the electric current heats the wire and with that you get light. The AC Induction Motors I thought would have been easier as they are a little more complex but it was difficult to explain the operation of one, I understand how it works and all that but trying to write it down so that someone with no knowledge of them could understand it was difficult. Anyway that report has now been done and handed in wasn't too bad in the end. However with 3 weeks to go I now have another report to do and basically only have 1 week to do it as it will need to be in and checked next week and returned to me the following week for corrections (shouldn't need them as I will be making sure it is perfect first time as I want the last week to be quiet). Other than that nearly all the course work is completed and only have a few things to tidy up so it is looking good so far. Hopefully everything goes well and I get on the HNC next year.

Other than the college as usual I have been following the Formula 1 and of course all things happening down at Forthbank. The F1 has been good the past few weeks and well Brawn GP are still doing well with Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello taking the 1, 2 at what has to be easily the best circuit on the F1 callander, in Monaco. I have to say ever since I started watching F1 when I was about 4 or 5 I have never missed a Monaco Grand Prix, it was always one of the circuits that we loved in the house. The race this year wasn't that intresting for some people as there wasn't much action as on the streets of Monaco overtaking is almost impossible so we don't see many changes in position but Monaco isn't about overtaking it is all about the skill of the driver throughout the course as one mistake in Monaco is more than likely going to end with a car in the crash barrier.

On the Stirling Albion front everything is looking good so far, we have managed to retain most of last years squad so credit to the wee Allan Moore for doing so unfortunatly I really think on the Goalkeeping front he should have released Myles Hogarth, as much as I like Myles I really do think that he would have been better off going to another team as it is now clear that Scott Christie is going to be the number 1 next season. Myles is a superb 'keeper and doesn't deserve to be on the bench all the time. I however hope though that since he is staying on he helps develop Scott's skills as from what I have seen of Scott this season he looks like he could be a decent 'keeper he just needs to cut out the camera saves as well as bulking up a bit and he really needs to learn how to organise his defence for all aspects of the game.

While on about football I now know how Allan Moore must feel during a game as being a manager at Forthbank isn't easy as on Saturday there I was co manager of a supporters team in the anual Stirling Albion Supporters Club fundraiser. On the Friday me and my co manager Andy Japp met up with the organiser James Smith or MIF as he is known and also our opponent managers where there Craig Dolby and Jimmy Watson just so we could pick the teams for the game. Since two time champions Redweb Is Best For Reports And Photos were one of the teams it was clear that that had to be my team and after that I handed over to Andy so he could pick the team and well done to Andy for his sellection as when it came to game day we had a group of players that worked as a team and that is what we needed.

On game day I left the warm up to Andy as he is a good coach and got the experiance from playing with Beechwood Albion (one of the Stirling Albion Supporters Teams) and well compared to our opponents Stirling Albion Buyers our warm up session was more organised with Andy getting the guys to work together and knowing each others names as well as getting their muscles warmed up ready for their cup final moment on the Forthbank pitch. Just before the kick off it was back to the dressing room for the pre match team talk that again I left to Andy but I didn't stay quiet it was just a case of telling the guys to go out their and enjoy the game and make sure we got in about our opponents. After lining up like they do in the cup finals it was time to get in my dug out ready for the first 45 minutes of footy. Me and Andy were ready for the game so were our guys. I was left to make sure each of our players had an equal amount of time on the pitch which I thought would be easy but making sure you take the right player off at the right time can be difficult but thankfully to Andy's team picking skills he had made sure we had a versatile bunch of players so we could rotate players in the team with ease. After the frst half was over we were 3 v 2 up and me and And were both in the referees wee black book after a pitch invasion to celebrate our third goal by Gareth Samson, not strictly how a manager should act when we score but who gives a f**k.

The halftime team talk was along the lines of getting the players told not to give away scrappy goals like we did and get back out there thinking it was back to 0 v 0. One thing though I'm sure in the home dressing room things were diffrent for the Dolby/Watson administration as our guys were up on our feet soon after getting in the dressing room ready to go out for the second half. The second half was much the same as the first and for the last 30 minutes I was left to solo in the dug out as Andy had to go on as one of our guys was needing a rest. So it was up to me to get the rest of our substitutions out the way without causing tomany issues. Unfortunaly that idea was shot down in flames with another injury 10 minutes from time but luckily we I had some one to come on for the last 10 minutes unlike Stirling Albion Buyers who required to bring in a couple of extra players to cover injuries. At full time the final score was.

Stirling Albion Buyers 4 V 7 Redweb Is Best For Reports And Photos

Yes it was my team that one but really I couldn't care who won as it was all about having a fun day and raising money for the Supporters Club, I would ust like to say well done to all the guys involved with the match and thank you to everyone who raised over £1600 for the Supporters Club.

Star Trek

What an amazing film! Just back from seeing it and just can not describe how good it was.

The trailers do not do it justice. The visual effects were superb, the script was superb the whole film was SUPERB!

Think I may just need to go and see it again as I am totally lost for words as of what to say.

Tuesday 12 May 2009

Weekend finally over.

Yes it is Tuesday and my weekend has just ended after Saturdays postponment of the final Stirling Albion game of the season due to a water logged pitch. I usually wouldn't be to bothered about it but I was one of the members of the Supporters Trust that was sponsoring the game. The referee took some time deciding if the game should go ahead but really there was only going to be one outcome and that was to postpone the game, however if the referee did listen to both managers about getting the pitched forked and letting the players warm up for 20 minutes then the surface water would have been drained. But no the referee wasn't wanting to get any more wet than he already was. So the game was postponed until Monday night. That didn't stop us from having a good time though as we decided to countinue with the Player of the Year presentation. Only two players this year who deserved the player of the yeatr award and it was Martin Grehan and Andy Graham.

Bored, Bored, Bored

Yes I am BORED. Sitting here in the college library with nothing to do as I didn't bring my flash drive with me as I didn't think I would need it. To combat being bored I am looking at the Stirling Albion forum and following the updates that are trickling through relating to tonights meeting and as I said on the dedicated blog that this plan looks great but that isn't help combat my boredom. I am supposed to be helping Tony out with his report thing but he is doing well at least he can describe how a light bulb works if nothing else.

I thought librarys are supposed to be quiet places for study and things like that but this place isn't quiet with the noise of photo copiers and people talking. Mind you it is supposed to be a place of study and I'm not doing much of that.

New Stirling Bridge Late and Stirling Albion win too late

Had a good weekend not done much the past couple of days. Yesterday I went out to the opening of the Forthside Bridge that is to link the City centre of Stirling to the new Forthside development which just now consists of a couple of restaurants and a cinema and thats it.

As with everything to do with the Council the bridge has opened a little bit late in fact I think it is around 6 to 8 months late, but better late than never. In all honesty though it was worth the wait as it is truly a stunning design of bridge. At first when I seen the concept drawings of the bridge I was a bit sceptical that it would be a working design. I have always loved the look of it and think it is something to be proud to have in the City. I however am still slightly doubtful about the bridge construction as when I was on it it did feel like there was a little too much movement.
I have uploaded other photos of the bridge over at my flikr page and will set up a link to that once I have worked out how to do it.

Other than the Bridge opening I was keeping up to date with the score from Methil where the Binos were taking on East Fife in the last away game of the season, I couldn't make the game as I didn't have the cash and it looks like I missed a good game as well since we won 3 V 0. It is typical though the week that I miss we win, any way got next week to look forward to where I am sponsoring the game along with members of the supporters club and since it is the last game of the season we are also having the Player of the Year presentation next Saturday.

Today has been another lazy day, no formula 1 this week so just cleaned my wee car fully inside and out so now she looks clean but give it until Wednesday and she will be dirty again. I really hate having a building site across the road nothing can be kept clean. I have also been setting up my dads new toy this weekend, he decided to go and buy a little Acer Aspire One netbook so he could learn how to use a computer which is a great idea but as with everything with computers I was left to set it up and get him connected into my network so he can print of stuff. Didn't take too long to do though after I had to do a system restore as it was an ex display model so it still had some passwords on it that had to be removed done that and now he has a fully functioning netbook with both Linux Linpus and Ubuntu on it. Was going to get him to have Windows XP but since Linux and Ubuntu are a lot safer and not much goes wrong with them I decided that it was a good idea to have them instead of Windows.

Long weekend

It's the May holiday and I'm off college for a few days again but I'm not going to have much time to myself got a little assignment to do for college. Don't know what to write for it but I should be able to get some thing sorted out.

Apart from that I'm going to try and have a lazy weekend and just relax. Not going to the football this week as I don't have the money for the trip to Methil to watch us take on East Fife. I'm just trying to save the pennies for the Sponsor game and player of the year day next weekend.

As I said a few posts ago I was going to look at getting fit. Really need to do something as I am unfit just now. My plan is to walk for my short trips and only use the car when I really need to, also plan to try and walk at least 3 miles a day, not much just now but it is a start. Other idea is to go swimming at the new lesiure place in Stirling, down by Forthbank at least once or twice a week and do some lengths of the pool just start of doing about 20 lengths a session which is only 500m but since I haven't swam or years it is a start. And finaly getting back on my bike and doing a couple of miles a few times a week.

Now looking that after the first week I will probably be dead so think I should gradually build it up. Once though I am happy I will start to increase it and hopefully go to the gym as well.

Just before I go I would like to inform you about my other blog I am doing which is going to be dedicated to the campaign to Save Stirling Albion from financial ruin. I hope to keep it updated as much as I can and would love for who ever reads it to email a link to others and get people to join it. Just go over to http://save-stirlingalbion.blogspot.com/ and you will get all the latest information and some of my opinions and if I have time I hope to reincarnate something that the fans enjoyed a few years ago.

SAVE THE BINOS!!

Well just thought I would spread the word on here about the possible community buy out of the Binos. PLEASE Read this and repost every where.

As we all know Stirling Albion Football Club is for sale. Chairman Peter McKenzie has announced to the world on several occasions that he is looking to step down and be relieved of his majority shareholding in the club. Talk of mystery consortiums has come and gone and despite the chairman hanging on for a white knight to charge over the horizon the offers simply haven't materialised. It's clear Peter wants out so maybe it's down to the fans to give him his wish. How do we do this though ? Peter won't give the club away and we need to show him we mean business and that we really are the people to lead the club into the future.

Therefore at this crucial moment in the history of Stirling Albion FC the fans have come together to act. Driven by the Supporters Trust, the Supporters Club, Young Reds, Websites and fans old and new have united. Backed by our own team of legal experts and campaign professionals we will never have a better chance of giving our club the future we all think it deserves. For months now ideas, options, proposals and suggestions have been discussed until a plan for taking the club forward was agreed. It's now time to get YOU involved and so we are therefore pleased to announce what could well be one of the most important meetings in our clubs recent history. For reasons of legality, confidentiality and publicity we cannot go into too much detail at this point in time. All we can promise is you will not be disappointed with what you see.

Where - King Robert Hotel, Glasgow Road, Bannockburn
When - Wednesday 6th May - 7.00pm for a 7.15pm start
What - Campaign for Community ownership of Stirling Albion
Why - We can’t do it without YOU!!

If you have any interest in the future of Stirling Albion and it’s place in our community we would plead with you to attend. We’re not too proud to beg. Please, please take the time to be there and to help play your part in shaping the future of Stirling Albion.

Bring a friend, bring your family, bring a neighbour. Bring anyone you know who runs a business in the town or anyone who has even the smallest of soft spots for the Albion. Everybody is welcome. Please be assured this is not a gimmick. This campaign has been months in the planning and is in our opinion possibly the one and only chance the fans and community will get to have a say in the running of their team. This is not about egos or making names for ourselves. This is about the long term security and viability of Stirling Albion Football Club. Hopefully this is something we all feel equally passionate about.

Look forward to seeing you on the 6th May.

Please feel free to contact us at info@safcst.org.uk if you have any queries about the meeting.

The sale of the Binos is it possible?

Breaking news over at www.stirlingalbion.com and www.stirlingalbionfc.com with the excellent announcement that there are plans for a "community" buy out of the club. Stirling Albion's owner Peter MacKenzie has been wanting to sell the club for some time now but no one has come forward to make him any offers, despite the numerous rumors of consortiums and local business men making offers nothing came of them. Now there is a meeting next Wednesday regarding the community buy out plan.

This was rumored at a while ago and since nothing was confirimed when this idea was first heard I thought it was dead in the water but now the Supporters Trust, Supporters Club, Young Reds and the websites have announced that they have been planning things for a while and after all the legal consultations that needed to be made they can now go public. I am looking forward to hear the plans and well this is going to be the last chance for anyone to step in and save the Binos from becoming the next fatality of Scottish Football Clubs. If things dont move on fast the club will be no more.

This is the time where the Albion will either be saved from the impending doom of financial ruin or the club is going to fall off the face of the earth.

Weekend part 3

Attempt number 3 at talking about my weekend.

As I was saying it was great to see
Mara Yamauchi do well in the Marathon and I do think she is a possible star of the future in distance running for the UK roll on London 2012 thats where she will need to prove herself as the next Paula Radcliffe.

Sunday wasn't just about the Marathon though as soon after it I could get ready for the Formula 1 from Bahrain, unfortunately this weekend I missed the Friday practice and Saturday Qualifying sessions due to being a bit busy on Friday and on Saturday I was in Peterhead so there was no chance to keep up to speed with the events in Bahrain.

Sunday's race though made up for me missing the other sessions as it was one of those edge of seat thrillers. Where the winner of the race was going to be decided by the pit stops and who could make the time to run the perfect race and with most of the teams looking so good this season it was close. The two Toyota's qualified first and second on the Saturday and Sebastian Vettel took third with Jenson Button in 4th and Lewis Hamilton has done his best so far in qualifying taking 5th. That had the front end of the grid looking rather good and competitive, and well it was a great race that followed when the lights went out. Just in the rush to turn one we had a few changes of positions throughout the field as usual but the race that followed included some excellent decisions for the team bosses to make and yet again the man that got the decisions right was Ross Brawn, from making sure Jenson Button had enough fuel to stay out for a longer first stint so he could get in front of the Toyotas during their pit stops and then use his lighter car to make some room for his stop and Ross Brawn got it perfect Jenson drove well to make the gap and Ross Brawn pulled him in for his stop. Even when it came to the second stop for Jenson it was timed perfectly to enable a better gap being made even though Jenson got the little notice board message of "BOX" which was an indication that he had to come in next lap of he would be out of juice.

All those doubters out there who thought Brawn GP wouldn't do well and said that they had issues in the desert heat soon sat up and took notice when Jenson cruised across the line to take the win. Even with a load of holes being drilled in the cars underside to help ventilate the engine and cool it due to the heat they still managed to secure the win.

Oh and lets not forget that old Stalwart Rubens Barrichello who may have finished sixth but he played a big part in Jensons victory by running a three stop strategy as was Jensons rear gunner who kept the field at bay while he was making space for his stop and once completed he continued to keep the pressure off him.

One thing though this race proved was that this season is going to be very close and I know I say that every time I'm talking about it but I can not believe that we have what looks like a fairly competitive season not like what we have had in previous years where it has been the two heavy weights of Mclaren and Ferrari slugging it out, and on the Ferrari note they finally picked up some points with Kimi Raikkonen getting three points, but it is the same old Fillipe Massa no where near getting any points, I just don't think he really has a feel for his car this season at all now. On paper it looks a good car and Kimi is starting to have some success with it but Massa is not going anywhere fast.

Oh and for a long time we had a race without any yellow flag incidents so no need for slow laps under the safety car where sometimes teams can make mistakes like McLaren done in Australia well after their little lieing incident they are up in the FIA court this week awaiting judgement.

The weekend ended on a high as well when I managed to watch the Carl Froch V
Jermain Taylor fight. I can honestly say it was one of the best fights I have seen for a while and I really did think that Froch would have lost by a couple of rounds if it went to the score cards as he just wasn't doing well at all. Taylor on the other hand looked the better fighter and in the third round he had Froch on the canvass with an excellent punch. The fight was al but over in the 12th round where Froch had no choice but to go out into the ring and knock Taylor out and well I couldn't believe what I seen. Froch came out of his corner fired up and layed into Taylor who just had no response to the attack and it looked like Taylors fitness had let him down again when Froch had him on the ropes in the corner and with one big right hand after some punnishment in rounds 11 and 12 Froch had Taylor down and it didn't look like he was getting back up and in my opinion he should have stayed down as no sonner was he back up and fighting the referee had to jump in to stop the fight as Carl Froch was now beating Jermain Taylor up quite badley and Taylor didn't answer Froches attack with any sort of defence.

So Carl Froch managed to hold on to his WBC Super Middle Weight title but only just there was no way he would have held onto it if the referee didn't step into stop the fight with just 14 seconds left. The only thing though about Froch in his post match interview he said he would love to take on the great Joe Calzaghe and the way Froch was talking he was confident he would beat Calzaghe but there is no chance of that even if Calzaghe did come out of retierment Froch wouldn't last the distance he would but knocked out in the sixth round.

Well finaly I have managed to complete my weekend even though now it is Tuesday night but it was just one of the best weekends of sport, I have had for a while OK Stirling Albion may not be in the Playoffs but that is a good thing as I think we need another year in the Second Division to get a decent team together again, just need to hope that the ruomors that we are sold are true but just now I will be watching for flying pigs.

I would go on for a bit about my plans to get fit, just like I have been going on about I really need to look at making some sort of plan.

Weekend Continued

I thought I would have managed to finish off my last post some time yesterday but never had time to. Got rather busy with college stuff. So now lets see if I can finish me weekend stuff.

So with the posibility of the Binos being sold sometime soon Saturday ended quite well, a good trip to Peterhead, some good football and a good laugh with the rest of the supporters. I was off to bed soon after so I could be up and ready for the start of the London Marathon at around 830 in the morning.

I have always tried to make sure I watch the Marathon as it is a good laugh to have a look for the most insane person there with their costumes and the elite races are excellent to watch as well it is always a good race to see what athletes are looking good this year. At least the Rhinos were back this year, the guys who run the Maratho9n in that heavy suit must be extreamly fit as it looks like it would be heavy and rather warm inside it and with London being hot on Sunday things didn't look too good for any of the runners even the elites must have found it difficult this year. Talking about the elite athletes it was great to see British runner Mara Yamauchi come second and for most of the race she pushed German runner Irina Mikitenko. It was some great running from Mara and well she looks like she will do well in years to come, will she do as well as Paula Radclife? lets hope she does.

And here we go again having to stop just now as my lecturer has turned up so will finish this later on. Should be done today as it is a half day here at the college.

Sport weekend

Good morning it is the Monday after a excellent weekend of sport. Not only did I have the football up at Peterhead on the Saturday but also had the London Marathon, Bahrain Grand Prix and the WBC super middle weight boxing match between Carl Froch and Jermain Taylor, oh and a little bit of the Snooker as well.

It all started on Saturday at around 730 when I had to get up to get ready to go for the Supporters Bus for the 3 hour trip to Peterhead. The trip up there is always good especially the coastal sections of the A90. Some people think spending 6 hours on a bus is a waste of your time just to get to a football match but it isn't especially since you have some of the best veiws of the landsape as you travel. The only thing though with our trip when we hit Aberdeen it started to cloud over and begin to rain after having the sun shineing for most of the trip it stayed overcast and wet until we were on our way home again where after leaving the Granite City it brightend up. I have never seen the sun shine in Aberdeen before everytime I have been near the place it has been cold or wet. Anyway the views wasn't the only thing we went up there for we were in Peterhead to see if we could slavagee our season against the bloo toon as a win would keep our chances of a playoff spot alive but it wasn't to be as we could only manage a 1 v 1 draw. So we have yet another season confined to Division 2.

The Peterhead trip isn't just about football though as it is one of the better trips of the season, it is all about the banter which slowely gets worse as the day moves on and the levles of alcohol increase some to the point of certing people being absolutly pickled. On the road home we usually make a stop somewhere for a refuleing session (you can enterperit refuleing however you like). After a 13 hour day I was back home in the comferts of my chair to watch the telly and then discover on the Stirling Albion supporters forum that we may either be sold or in the process of being sold but as with everything to do with the Albion they're more chances of Pigs Flying than us being sold.

Will finish this later

Monday 20 April 2009

Mondays

After a excellent 2 weeks off college where I done as little as possible apart from go to the football and watch the formula 1 oh and started some gardening work as well. Will post more about my gardening escapades later on and not forgetting working away on "the pod" to try and get it back on the road. So far locating parts for a 1975 Toyota Hi Ace is impossible.

So far it has been a good day not done any work since I came in this morning, my first lecturer decided to give us a few excellent wee stories about things he has done in his life, it is always excellent to listen to people like him as you can learn a lot about them from what they say also it is a great excuse to sit and do nothing. So that was the first class out the way. The second class was even better as the lecturer didn't turn up, now I would usually be pissed off about that but for some reason I'm not, maybe as the laugh the four of us had looking at some freaky stuff on YouTube that helped dissolve the Monday blues. Well just now I'm back from lunch up at McDonald's and just waiting for the Maths lecturer to turn up at least I have some of my investigation to show her that I was working on last week, not finished it yet but look on the bright side it doesn't need to be in for a few weeks yet.

Oh and after taking time over the past week or so to think about getting fit I'm just going to start building up my exercise again really need to get back in to some sort of exercise routine. One thing that is helping me though is the fact that my new phone has some features for measuring the exercise you do, just walking and running though but at least it gives me an idea of how well I'm doing.

Anyway got to go now the lecturer has turned up.

The Race Is On

Good afternoon. I was up this morning again to watch the Chinese Grand Prix and after yesterdays qualifying session that seen the Red Bull's do well with Sebastian Vettal taking poll and Mark Webber securing third on the grid with the Brawn's in fourth and fifth. It is begining to look like the Red Bull's are coming into their own and challange Brawn GP. The race taday was another wet affair this time from start to finnish with the Safety Car being used at the start of the race and it stayed on track for about 10 laps or so before finally pulling into the pits and letting the race start properly. Once we were under race conditions though it was entertaining. The condidions didn't help the driving as I think all the cars ended up off the track at some point in the race. Not much else to say really about the race apart from that well done to Sebastian Vettal and Mark Webber who took full advantage of their grid positions and some unlucky/poor tactics by Reanults Fernando Alonso who was in second place but had to pit under safety car conditions and end up at the back of the field.

Just one final thing Fillipe Massa broke his Ferrari again or is just the case that the new Ferrari was designed to break all the time?

Season Over

Another week, another game of footy and the grave has been dug and the coffin is ready just one more nail required to confirm that Stirling Albion's season is dead and burried. Nothing apart from a mirical will save us now.Well done to Raith Rovers today who were the better side and I hope the now go on and win the league. Brechin City done them a favour against Ayr United today and well I hope Raith can get the win over Brechin next week.

Friday

Good afternoon everyone. It's Friday and the weekend is just around the corner. Things have improved a bit for me I have managed to get some of the project done and I'm just getting ready for the Formula 1. Watched the practice sessions and well it looks like Brawn are going to do well again with the Ferraris still struggleing.

Also got my new mobile phone today so just been setting it up this afternoon. Really happy now just need to get a memory card for it that way I can put a fraction of my music collection on to it. Really need to find a mp3 player that can hold my collection got about 3600 songs not a lot I hear you say but it works out to be around 240 hours worth of music the other thing is it is always growing. I don't have any particular genre of music I like as I can listen to everything from Classical through to Heavy Metal to Punk Rock. The only thing that is limiting growth just now is space for CD's. I do get some downloaded but I love my CD's but like everything else they will become unpopular and everything will go to downloads which isn't that bad really. Talking about music I'm always looking for suggestions of who to listen to.

Formula 1 - Diffuser Gate

Earlier on today the FIA passed its verdict on the diffuser issue, and well what a surprise it was here is nothing wrong with the diffusers on the Brawn GP car, or any of the others. Just one thing to say about it.

"Pram Emptied, Toys everywhere"

That was the case for Ferrari at Australia as they and others had a little tantrum because they didn't think of the design first. The will just need to tidy up and stick their dummy back in their mouth now.

Onto more important things then lets look forward to China, not long now just can't wait until we are back in action. The Formula 1 will be a lot better than this weekends Football that's for sure, we are playing Raith Rovers and well Raith will be up for the win more than us as they know that if they win they will have a good chance of winning the title. But having said that we seem to lift our game against the "bigger" teams in the league, so we could well sneak the win which would be excellent as it would give us a little chance of getting to the play-offs but then it comes down to confidence and fight from the players do we have enough fit to do well. I'm not too sure what to think but from what I have seen in recent weeks from the Binos I don't see us making the play-offs however I would like to.

Investigations

Not just about investigations though but I am supposed to be starting my Maths investigation today and to be fair I can't be bothered to do it. I think it is just a case of having a holiday and wanting to do nothing but relax and switch off from the world for a few days. But I feel that if I do that just now I won't do the investigation, as thats what I use to be like but I am trying to change my life from being too layed back to a bit more active with the things I need to do. At school years ago I didn't worry about handing things in late as I always knew I could do them and my teachers also knew this. Some things were difficult but I still managed them but as you all know I have been trying to change this around and well I have done well for a while as all my previous projects for college were completed ahead of schedule, but now I just feel that I'm slipping back to my old ways, something I want to avoid as I have been doing well and I just don't want to go back into my past that much. I like my new life and I want to keep it up.

Another thing about the new me I want to desperately start with the lighter nights now coming in I want to get out and about more and get fit. I'm a unhealthy bugger use to play football now and again but after problems with my knee that stopped also use to be out on my bike a lot as well as go swimming at least once a month. Don't know why any of that stopped though. I was going to join the Peak gym but after looking at the prices that place is a joke, how exactly does Stirling Council expect people from a poor background to afford the fees. I'm not poor but still I would find it hard to pay their fees. I thought that the Peak was supposed to promote a healthy Stirling. For those of you don't know about the Peak it is Stirling's new multi use sports complex that replaced the Rainbow Slides it is right next door to Forthbank and it is all known as the Sports Village now. Well from what I have seen the facilities look good but I just don't see me going along as it is just a tad expensive. Think it may be the Uni for me, the only problem though is it is a 50m pool and well I don't have enough confidence to try 50m lengths yet, maybe if I kept at the swimming I would be but just now I'm not that confident.

Holidays

On holiday the now from college so just been working with my dad and trying to relax. The football on Saturday was shocking, I would have commented on it sooner but it is a match I want to forget getting beat of the relegated Stranraer was a joke. We just didn't seem to have any passion in the team on Saturday. The first half was OK for us but the second was horrible. It was on 2 v 1 to Stranraer because of our 'keeper pulling off some good saves and deserved being the man of the match.

Now I have said it before that our season was over but now I truelly believe it is over. I just think the team has lost the passion and desire to go for wins and the chance of a play-off spot. There are only a few players in the team who are showing some fight, but they are the ones who always do. Andy Graham and Ross Forsyth are two of them they have shown that they want the team to do well. Then there are the ones who I would love to see leave the club immediatly especially Mark Docherty, who ever told him that he could play football was having a laugh no way is Docherty a football player. I have seen better players in the sponsored games the website have.

Rain Stops Play

Race 2: Malaysia

All was going well in the second race of the season. Only a few unexpected incidents happened with Jenson Button having a poor start that seen him drop back a few places but after a few laps and some pit stops he reclaimed his place leading the field around the Sepang Circuit until in laps 31 to 33 we had the predicted Monsoon conditions and after a short spell of the Safety Car it was clear that in lap 33 that conditions were dangerous and for the first time in years we had Red Flag conditions.

Race was suspended after 1 hour and 10 minutes. With Jenson Button leading. Then for some reason the officials decided to keep waiting to see if the race could be restarted, when it was clear that there was no chance of a restart. After 50 minutes of waiting the decision was made by the clock as there was only 10 minutes left on the race clock, basically the 2 hour race window was closing and since the race was still Red Flagged and in the rules of the sport a 10 minute warning is required before restart there was absolutely no chance for a restart.

Nothing much else I can say about it really apart from the fact that the officials could have ended it sooner when it was clear that there was no chance of restarting in time for full points to be awarded. So only half points this week for those who managed to get in the points positions. A good race that was hampered by the weather, anyway no F1 next week but it is Singapore next, so the teams can have a week off to work on some little issues they have been having.

Well done though to Jenson Button yet again as well as Brawn GP, looking good for them so far and well I am getting more convinced to support Brawn GP this season, but just now as a neutral I am happy with the progress being made throughout the pit lane. Ferrari are still being a disappointment though due to poor decisions and dodgey KERS, McLaren aren't much better, Red Bull, BMW, Toro Roso are doing OK but again not as good as they should be. Force India, Reanult, Williams and Toyota have done as I expected them to do and Brawn have been the best so far, didn't expect them to do well due to being the new boys and on a limitied budget but they have done well. It is still the begining of the season and this is F1 so anything can happen over the season.

The next big thing for F1 is the FIA court hearing to do with the DIfusers. The difuser is just a device at the back of the car that is designed to difuse the air flow simple really, but a few teams have ones that are diffrent and work better than the others. Some people weren't happy and complained and we are now awaiting the FIA decision on the matter. I don't see them saying they are illegal as from what I have seen everything looks good and doesn't breach any of the rules, I think it is just a case of lets complain as we didn't think of that. I'm sure nothing will happen next Tuesday, but again when it is the likes of Ferrari that is having a moan you just never know what the decision will be.

Malaysia Qualifying

Disasterous session for Ferraris Filipie Massa, the team thought Massa was OK to get in to Q2 and brought him into the pits to get ready for Q2 siily move though as after the rest of the drivers who were on track Massa was knocked out of the top 15.

In Q2 it was the turn of McLaren to get it all wrong as Lewis Hamilton and Hekki Kovalainen not doing that well either. So it is the case that things are going to be totally diffrent this year, the new rules are working and it goes to show when you see the starting grid. My predictions were close OK I only got Jenson Button right but Rubens Barrichello did qualify in the top 5 but due to a gear box replacment he dropped 5 places.

Just going to repair my car after the Audi ripped my light off.

Malaysia GP and Melbourne Controversy

Good morning. As we now know McLaren were disqualified from the Australian Grand Prix after withholding information from the race stewards the situation all related to Lewis Hamilton and Jarno Trulli incident when the Safety Car came out onto the track after Robert Kubica and Sebastian Vettel crash. The basics of the incident Jarno left the track and Lewis passed him which was all legal as Jarno had all 4 wheels off the track, but then some major confusing for Lewis as he asked his team for advice about the situation and Lewis was clear about what he wanted to know, did he need to let Jarno back into third at the time he initially asked this he was told he needed to and he did. But soon after the team were unsure of what to do and contacted the race director. By this time the race was over and Jarno was third.

Then the post mortum begun and it was clear on Sunday that Jarno Trulli passed Lewis Hamilton under Safety Car conditions, which he did do the video footage proves this. But over the past two days it was clear that during the initial PM McLaren withheld the information about the radio communications and this wasn't liked by the stewards and they immediately Disqualified the McLaren Team and reinstated Jarno Trulli to third position.

If McLaren presented the radio information on Sunday after the race they would have been fine but due to there stupidness the screwed it up for themselves

Drive off's

Not had a good couple of days yesterday my wee Skoda Fellicia was crashed into by someone and one of my indicator units was smashed and some minor body work damage was caused. What made this worse was the person responsable drove off after hitting it and to make it even more annoying it was a Learner Driver who was out with their Driving School. I'm really pissed off about the whole thing as they didn't even have the common decency to contact me or anything. I seen it happen and by the time I got outside they were gone.

I just feel that if this is the sort of driving that is being taught now there will be more cases of people failing to stop at the scene of an accident. So this driver has got away with it and left me out of pocket.

After this incident today I had a visit to my local scrap yard to see if they had a indicator unit and luckily they did, so got that I had my dad with me as well who was looking for a set of distributor points for his old Toyota Hi-Ace camper-van, but with it being over 20 years old Distributor Points are hard to get as everything has moved onto electronics. Now the only real option left is to see if there would be any way to get a set of points of another car, of a similar age. So it looks like my Easter Holidays is going to be spent trailing around all the local scrapyards to see if I can salvage anything that will do the job.

Just about to go to bed to be up ready for the qualifying session of the Malaysian Grand Prix tomorrow. Never seen the practice sessions this morning as I had to take someone to Falkirk and then had to come back to Stirling to go to a meeting so it has been a busy day.

Just a quick prediction for the F1 qualifying

1. Jenson Button
2. Kimi Raikkonen
3. Rubens Barrichello
4. Robert Kubica
5. Felipe Massa

thats my top 5 anyway will just need to wait and see if it is right.

Easter Break

Today was the last day of college for two weeks as I'm now on holiday. So don't need to worry about getting up early for a couple of weeks apart from getting up for the Formula 1. A nice relaxing couple of weeks for me.

Only got a few things to do for college during the holiday so don't need to worry about that either. The holiday couldn't have come at a better time as I have been needing a wee break. So with nothing to do it looks good. Don't know what I should do though, not got any plans yet.

Tuesday 31 March 2009

Hoover Ebay

After the hoover dieing and going to the big hoover heaven in the sky it was time to get looking for a new one. Now it should by the old yins looking for one but since we have the world at our fingertips I decided a wee hunt on the internet would be a good idea, and after looking through the usual high street names and found a couple of good ones but just to ensure good value I decided to go one stage further and have a wee look at the old faitful Ebay and as with everyting found the exact same one we seen on the Comet website but at a fraction of the price.

So after a little waiting until the last 60 seconds of the auction I decided a wee cheeky bid of £23 should be placed that was a good bid as I had control of the auction but just as the auction entered into the final 10 seconds someone somewhere jumped in with a better bid but not to fear I soon had my second bid in for £26 with 3 seconds to go and, just now that little person somewhere in the country who thought they had the auction won is probably screaming at their computer and everyone around them as they have been beaten by the gorilla.

College, today

Good morning, here we are again at college, sitting waiting on a lecturer to turn up. At least we won't be evicted this time as this is our usual room, now that I have said that we probably will get shifted to somewhere else. Well this morning promises to be interesting as we have Single Phase AC, a nice little easy class that involves calculations into various different parts of an Single Phase AC circuit also some drawings that Tony should find more to his level.

Was going to post a bit about my after race thoughts yesterday but didn't have time after the hover blocked and started to overheat and knackering the Motor, so last night was spent with that in bits around me only to find out that I couldn't sort it easily so it looks like a new hover is needed. It's all my dads fault though for getting crappy second hand ones.

Got to go now the lecturer has turned up so it looks like I will need to go anjd do some work.

Sunday 29 March 2009

The powers that be

Well just thought I should update this again after the powers that be in the world of Formula 1 decided that Jarno Trulli had broken the rule of "overtaking while under safety car conditions", if it was in the middle of the race he would have got a drive through penalty but since it happened at the end of the race he had 25 seconds added to his overall time and this knocked him down from 3rd to 12th. So that seen Lewis Hamilton gain 3rd place so after starting 18th on the grid Hamilton pulled it out the bag and got in the top 3. It may be good for him but was it really his skill that got him there or was it luck, I really do think it was luck for Hamilton as from what I have seen it does look like McLaren are struggleing with the car.

Race Day

Good morning its RACE DAY. Currently we are raceing and we already have a couple of wing issues which was expected. Looks a good day in Australia. Was a bit shocked to see Rubens Barrichello make a mistake at the start and lose a couple of positions, not good even more worrying he has wing issues. Will Brawn bring him in to have it sorted or will he keep going.

Superb race, the Ferraris were well off the pace and Massa had to retire. Brawn GP have confirmed they are a force to be reckoned with. After losing a few places at the start Rubens managed to regain them when Robert Kubica and Sebastian Vettl crashing into each other. That has got to be one of the best races I have seen for a while and just a totally unbelievable result. Who would have thought before the start of the weekend that the new boys would claim pole and 2nd on the grid and at the end of it claim the 1st and 2nd. Well done Jenson that was excellent. So glad I watched it live.

Oh and Jarno Trulli starts from the pits in his Toyota and claims third. Lewis Hamilton also surprised me by going from 18th to 4th, didn't expect that from McLaren so maybe they are getting things sorted out now.

Well off to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia next week for round two.

A great end to a great weekend. Now off for my breakfast.

Saturday 28 March 2009

McKenna Double

You know how I said our season was over last week, well yet again I may be wrong as we beat East Fife today and David McKenna scored a double, what a turn around from last weeks performance again we did have a fair few chances to score but at least this time McKenna made use of some of his. So after that it looks like the playoffs are still a possibility but now it is a case we must win the rest of our games. Not going to make any predictions on this as well I feel if I do the opposite will happen.

So just now it looks like our season has returned to its feet after falling to its knees last week.

Apart from the Binos winning this week Scotland are playing Holland just now in the 2010 World Cup Qualifier, the last time I checked things weren't looking good for the Tartan Army. As the Dutch were winning 2 V 0. At least I'm not over there as from reports this Afternoon from the Binos in Amsterdam it was £4.50 for a pint.

Good night people I'm off to watch James Bond - Tomorrow Never Dies, since I can't get the football as it is on Setanta excellent idea from the SFA to stick it on a PPV channel just make it so the odineary Scot can't watch the game, what is wrong with Sky Sports, the BBC or even ITV? not enough money in it.

Qualifying - Rerun

Good afternoon, I should have been saying good morning when I was supposed to be watching the F1 Qualifying Session Live but due to a power cut I was unable to watch the F1 or even log on here to make a wee post. So far today I have managed to avoid most of the news about it but since it is the rerun I won't post my predictions for tomorrows starting line up.

Just over the half way point in Q1 and Lewis Hamilton has just done a good lap in the McLaren, is this a sign that they issues with the car are now resolved or is some false hope for the current world champion.

And as I thought we have a Brawn GP on top of the pile with a lap of 1:25.815 for Rubens Barrichello. Could we see a lap record this weekend?

End of Q1 and I am surprised at the times placed by Brawn GP, I knew they would be fast but not that fast 1:25.006 and a 1:25.211 that is just amazing for a new team. McLaren are just badly off space.

Totally unbelievable it looks like Micheal Shumachers lap record of 1:24.125 is going to go.

Q2 just starting and well this is going to be good. Just noticed that Brawn GP have got a sponsor and it is Virgin, I hope they keep the car looking like it is and don't put the Virgin logo and colours plastered all over it.

Well McLaren are in trouble Lewis has big issues. Drive train issues = not good. Why do McLaren always have trouble with the changes it takes them a while to adapt.

End of Q2 and the Brawns have went even faster. 1:24.783 for Rubens and 1:24.855 for Jenson. It is looking like this season will be very interesting as not only are Brawn doing well but, Williams, Red Bull and Toyota are all faster than the Ferraris and McLaren.

Start of Q3 don't expect any fast laps here as the cars will need to be fueled for the first stint of the race tomorrow and fuel adds weight.

End of Q3 and Jenson Button snatches pole position for tomorrows race right from under the nose of his Brawn team mate Rubens Barrichello both run a 1:26 lap. So a Brawn 1 - 2. Excellent I said I wasn't going to support anyone this year after David Coultard retired but I think it my team may well be Brawn GP. That was the best qualifying session I have seen for a while.

Friday 27 March 2009

The Afternoon After Yhe Morning Before

This morning as you know I spent it watching the practice sessions of the Formula 1 and well as I thought it is going to be difficult to chose who is going to do well this year. All the drivers and teams are looking rather equal. Now that I have had time to catch up on my sleep I feel a lot better and well from practice the drivers to look out for this year are Robert Kubica, Nico Roseberg, Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello I think they will all do well this season. Just now I would say Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso are going to be under achievers. The Ferrari drivers didn't look too good in P1 or P2 but it is Ferrari and I expect them to sort things out before Saturday's Qualifying session, same with McLaren they didn't look that great but I do think Heikki Kovalainen has things under control unlike Hamilton who just didn't look too hot.

Another thing I think my prediction that Renault will do well is going to be wrong, Alonso did look good at the time but after looking at the lap times I think it could be a bad season for Renault. Red Bull also had a few technical issues during Friday practice but I hope they can sort them out before Qualifying tomorrow.

Now that I have had some sleep I also think I may well watch all the sessions this year as they are providing good insight into how things are progressing with the teams this year plus we are getting good commentary from the BBC unlike ITV.

After some discussion over on the Forumula1.n
et about the new livarys for the teams this year, that Renault's was just rubbish and Brawn GP looked smart in there all white with yellow highlights but it isn't going to end there a little poll over on Forumula1.net will need to be set up to decide it once and for all. THe only problem though is the Brawn livary will be changing if the rumors are true that Sir Richard Branson is going to be sponsoring them under his Virgin set of companies. So will the name stay Brawn GP or will we have Brawn-Virgin or will we have Virgin-Brawn.

Just a quick shout out to EwmanM from Forumula1.net

The softs are wearing off terribly quickly.
Brawn are indeed fast, but so are Ferrari.
Heikki is punching above his weight whereas Lewis is scrapping with the car. The Mclaren is looking Awful.
Red Bull continue Newey's fast by fragile approach.
Piquet is useless.
Have Williams been hiding performance? Nico looks bloody quick!

You couldn't be more accurate. Nelson Piquet Jr. Is just not doing his dads name any good. Will talk to you later in chat.

Friday Pracitce 2

It has only been a few hours since P1 and now we have P2. These are the only Friday Practice sessions that I will be watching just had to get my fix. I will still be making sure I am up for qualifying and the race, but the practice sessions will only be watched if I feel up to it. More than likely I will watch one of the practice sessions.

Just got two teams to go

BMW Sauber are one team that will performe well this year. It looks like Robert Kubica could well be winning more races this year and be gaining vital points in the race for the title. Just now though it is like the BMW is suffering from a lack of grip even though proper slicks are being used.

Toyota one of the long standing F1 teams but over the years don't have much to show for their time in the sport. This year should see them do better but if they don't I think they could well struggle to seccure sponsorship next year.

As you will see I have found it hard to split the teams as it does look like a close season and lets hope that on Sunday when the race it we get a excellent performance from all the drivers and teams.

Good Morning All

It is 0123 on Friday 27 March 2009 and in a little over 10 minutes we will have the start of the new F1 season. As The first practice session starts. So with nothing more to say I'm going to enjoy the opening session. Will post a bit more about teams as the session goes on.

UPDATE

Well now well into practice session 1 and it does look like we will have a intresting season. All ready had our first breakdown of the season with Sebastian Vettel having a hydralic problem, I hope that isn't going to be much as for Red Bull.

Torro Rosso running with a Ferrari engine and basically are Red Bull two. I think there could well be some confusion down in the Torro Rosso garage this year since both driver are Sebastien's. The also have the only new driver this year as Sebastein Buemi makes his debut. Not too sure what to expect from Torro Rosso this year not really a team I have followed

Reanult after seeing the new Reanult livery I am dissapointed. The cars just don't look like they should. Currently on board with Alonso just now and the car looks to be handleing well so maybe they will do well this year. I think they have a lot to offer this year and are another team that will be close to the top.

Force India they didn't do well last year at all and with the rule changes this year I think they will benefit the most from them but I can't see them making a challange they are still going to be in the bottom 5 this year as I just don't think they will be able to push the cars to the limit.

Thursday 26 March 2009

Formula 1 - Not Long Now

Not long until Friday Practice gets underway in Melbourne. Under 7 hours to go and I am just a little bit excited about the start of the new season. As I have said before I am totally unsure of who to support this year and well I am also totally unsure of how things are going to go. This season is not going to be easy for anyone, in fact everyone will have a tough season and it is looking like it could be slightly better for the smaller teams.

So just before things get under way I think I will give a wee run down of my thoughts so far regarding the major changes and the teams.

The main rule changes as we all know include the return of ungroved slicks, no fancy aerodynamic bits and the introduction of the Kinetic Energy Recovery System or KERS for short. These changes are excellent for the followers of the sport as well as drivers as they will ensure each lap of each race to be entertaining and overtaking will happen a lot more than it use to as the drivers can get closer to each other but also improve there chances through the KERS system that will give them a boost to either stay in front or get in front. Another excellent thing about these rule changes is that all the cars will nearly be exactly the same in design and construction so everyone will be equall. The main thing about the changes is it will show what drivers are really the best in the business.

Personally I think these changes should have been done a few seasons ago as the sport has been dominated by McLaren & Ferrari for a while now and the smaller teams havent managed to do much to catch them with only Reanult coming close. Now it looks like even the newest member of the paddock, Brawn GP will do well and some are tipping Jenson Button to win in Melborne on Sunday. Now if that happens it will be a major upset in the sport as it will show that the likes of Brawn GP are going to be a threat for the championship.

Brawn GP are the new boys in town and well they do have some experiance since most of the team were all at Honda last year who have pulled out, basically Brawn GP are a reincarnation of Honda. They also have the most experianced driver this season with Rubens Barrichello who has raced with many legends of the sport.

Red Bull are definetly a team to watch this season as it looks like they may just have an edge over the rest of the field. But the size of that edge won't be known until we see everyone in action. Red Bull are going to be in or near the top 5 at the end of the season maybe Mark Webber will manage to get them a good place in the drivers championship as well.

McLaren last year Lewis Hamilton secured the drivers championship but only by a few points, will the guys at McLaren manage to get Lewis on the top of the leader board again or have there testing problems not been sorted out. I don't think we will see McLaren do well this season but as always with F1 you just never know what is going to happen.

Williams are always a team that can do well no matter what and last year I thought was a sucessful year for them and I think they will build on it. They are the only team in this years competition to be using a non electrical version of the KERS system, now will this be a good idea or not and will it be reliable. I wouldn't like to trust it these mechanical systems may not be as effective as there electrical cousins.

Ferrari I use to be a big fan of the boys in red but all that sort of went away when Micheal Shumacher retired, he may still be with them as an advisor but it just isn't the same. I have never been a fan of Fillipe Massa don't know why but he just isn't that intresting to me. I do however like Kimi Raikkonen and would like to see the Fin do well. But it is Ferrari and they like to complain about everything just now. They are a team who just can not handle loseing. Ferrari were good last year but I think this year they are going to have some problems adjusting to life without all the fancy stuff they had on their cars over the last few years.

Well there you go the first five teams this year and a wee bit about what I think about them.

Dentists and Regeneration

Not long back from the dentist this morning where I have just had a filling and still require a wee bit more work to get the teeth back into shape. That work will include eiter a repair to a front tooth or getting it pulled out and getting a bridge or a plate made for it. Something I don't want is a plate but at least if I get one I may get a coloured one if that would be possible. At least though my dentist I goto now is a lot better than the one I had a few years ago who is mainly responsable for some of my problems with my teeth, the only downside it is in Falkirk so not ideal but at least it is a NHS dentist who likes to make his patients feel at home. This was the first time I have ever heard a dentist play Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast. So not only a good dentist but also a dentist with a good taste of music as well.

As most of you know I am from the Raploch in Stirling and I would never leave the area, even though it isn't the greatest place in the world but it is home. I have lived here all my life and it has changed dramatically over the years with all the regeneration work that is going on, which is great as finally after years of waiting for the new builds to start they have been going on for a couple of years now and even with the economic down turn that has hit the country most of the properties that are for sale have been sold, now who would of thought that people would buy a house in the Raploch. Which is supposed to be one of the most rundown places in the country that has its fiar share of drink, drug and anti social behaviour problems well I may say that but in reality it is no diffrent to anywhere else in the country OK there are problems but can someone honestly say that areas of this country don't have issues.

At least now as the first decade of the new Mellennium draws to a close things are looking up for the area. We finally have a new Community Campus that has everything for a 21st century Raploch to move on, also new housing in the area, better and safer roads as well. So is this the Raploch finally improving or is it just covering up the true Raploch?

Now you would think I would be happy about the improvments in the area and don't get me wrong I am but the way things are being run by the local organisations in parts isn't good. Some people are not being allowed to access some of the new facilities within the campus and even the road improvment works have been a slight failure giving that in the pedestrian priority area outside the campus on Drip Road is being abused with cars driving up onto the pavements by easilly fitting through the traffic bollards at the edge of the road. Apart from these issues things do llok like they will continue to improve and I hope they do.

The downside to all these improvements and building works is the simple fact right at this second I a large pile driving machine is hammering large piles into the ground over at the building site and everytime it hammers it shakes the house as well as being noisy, just not good when you are supposed to be doing college work.

After Class Eviction

Well after this afternoon's eviction at college I thought I would give a wee bit of an up date. The college yet again screwed things up with there rooms. I honestly can not believe how bad they are when it comes to allocating rooms, this has happened a good few times this year, at least this time it was only a short walk to the next room along and thankfully it wasn't a relocation to what has to be the smallest class room of all time, what is the point of putting a class of ten students in a room no bigger than 3m X 3m where there were only 8 desks there is no chance that 10 students and a lecturer could work in a room that size.

Well at least college is over for the week now and I can start to prepare for a weekend of Formula 1 and Football. In a little over 30 hours the Formula 1 will start in Melbourne, Australia with the Friday practice session.

On Saturday I will have the qualifying session where we should start to see what team has got the right combination of technology, driver skill and tactics. Then after the qualifying for the F1 Stirling Albion will take on East Fife at Forthbank. Now as most Binos will tell you our season is almost over and if we don't win on Saturday it will be over, points are needed , but as I said before it just doesn't look good anyway, promotion isn't happening this season unless a mirical happens. Oh and not to mention it is also a international weekend with Scotland taking on Holand in Amsterdam. Yet another round of internationals and well all ready it isn't looking good for the Tartan Army as the injuries are mounting up so can Scotland cause an upset in the 'dam or will it be a kicking from Holland?

Then after Saturdays football it is back to the F1 where on Sunday the first race of 2009 gets underway in OZ.

Not going to say much just now on the F1 as I'm not sure what will happen over the next few days as the teams do there final bits and pieces so to say who is going to win what just now is just a bit to risky, however I think this season could see some upsets with a possible outsider stepping up and claiming the title.

Oh and since you are reading this you probably got my spaming email, just thought I would let you all know what I am doing. Oh and Tony didn't kill himself with his chair carry on never even injured himself.

Good Afternoon

Well I'm just sitting in my class waiting for the lecturer to turn up. Got Matthew and Tony here and just now Tony is trying to kill himself by attempting to ballance a chair, give it 10 minutes and he will KO himself.

Been to Pennies today for lunch wher I was going to put some music on as we usually get a load of rotton dance/pop from the regular NEDS. But for some reason today we had Rammstein, Prodigy, for once it wasn't me that put them on. Anyway got to go just now as moving class rooms bloody college can't get room numbers correct double booked this one AGAIN.

Time to move on

Well I just started this yesterday. The main reason for starting this is I have now decided after the past few years of being stuck, it is time to get my life back moving. I sort of started to move my life on about this time last year but at the time I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my life, so I decided to go back to college to do something. I ended up doing a NQ in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, which at the time I thought wouldn't really like but over the course I have really enjoyed it. I have to say some parts of it have been difficult but other areas I have found easy, and at times when doing reports I have ended up writing a good few pages when I only need to write a couple.

Anyway I think it is definetly something I should continue with. I have been looking at doing an apprenticeship to get my HNC but just now getting an apprenticeship is almost impossible. So it looks like another year at Forth Valley College for me and hopefully some of the guys on my course just now are there as well as it has been a good laugh.

Also it is about time I started to get out more and get on with my life. Just been too quite.

Welcome to the Gorilla Files

Well thought I would start my very own blog. Use to do this a while ago but kind of forgot about it due to other stuff that was going on in my life. The basics really just now are I go to college, go to the football and that's about it, OK I do some other stuff as well but you should find that out as I write.

Today I made a return to going to Stirling Albion away games after not being able to due to being a poor student. Didn't want to miss today as it was a trip to the Scottish National Stadium, Hampden. We might not have been playing in a cup game or in front of a capacity crowd of 52,000 but a mere crowd of just under 600 against Queens Park. Been there when it is full and the atmosphere is brillient but when it is basically empty it is just too quite for a football stadium. The game was another one where the Binos should have had it won by the end of the first half after the number of chances we had. But for somereason this season we haven't been that great at putting the ball in the back of the net. One of our strikers, David McKenna must either be the most unlucky striker out or one of the worst finnishers as in the first half he could have had a hatrick. By the end of the second half things were worse as we lost 3 v 1 to a poorer side. In the game we had 18 clear chances to score but only scored one of them (well two if you include Martin Grehan's offside strike) compared to Queens Park shots to goal ratio they had three clear chances and scored all of them.

Well with today's defeat it is now clear that we will still be in the second division next season as I don't see us going up even if we did get in to the play offs.

Apart from the football I have been slowely counting down the days until the new Formula 1 season begins in Melborne, Australia. I love the F1 as much the football but I don't have an overall favourite in it. I would say I support Lewis Hamilton just now but before he retired a few seasons ago it was Micheal Shumacher and David Coultard that were the drivers I liked in it but both have now retired from racing so it looks like I will be supporting Hamilton this season however, I don't care who wins the championship, it's the sport I like. This season promisies to be the best in years, especially with the BBC broadcasting it, now we won't have ANY adverts bloody ITV and there ad's every ten minutes at important parts of races. Also we are going back intime as well with the regulations with the reintroduction of propper slick tyres and none of these strange wing/flap/fin/gils areodynamic designs just a proper wing set up no fancy stuff.

Well that's about it from me just now. Just one last thing there are 5 days 1 hour 8 minutes until the F1 season kicks off in Melborne.
